Memory Quilts
Memory Quilts is good for many special occasions and becomes a cherished gift. The more personal it is the more it means to the recipient.
First I would encourage anyone wanted to put together a Memory Quilt to try to organize it early enough to give those who want to construct thier own time to add that personal touch, at least 6 months in advance.
Its also nice to be able to come together in a group and work on the project together. Whether each are going to construct thier own from scratch or want to write or draw a special message to be included on the quilt. When you come together to work on it, you can share ideas and help each other. Its just nice to have the memory of everyone working together to make a special gift for someone you all care about.
Now for some ideas.
Option 1: A Quilting Party
A simple way and a quick way to put together a memory quilt is to have a quilting party. If you choose to do this, I will provide instructions and that will help you through the process. You can call or email me if you have any questions. *If you live close to me, I can be there at the party and help everyone through the process of creating a quilt block. A quilt kit is given to each one who is to complete a quilt block. I can provide this for $4 each or give you the information the designated person can put a kit together. If I am to complete the quilt, I would be given all the information, complete the quilt and deliver to the designated person.
*Transportation Fee - $.50 per mile and $15 per party hour.
Option 2: Giving Out Information
An information packet can be given to everyone whom you want to complete a block or contribute to the making of the quilt. This information can be provided by me for $4 each packet or give you the information to the designated person who can put a kit together. They complete thier part and send the quilt block or information to have the quilt block completed to me or to the perons designated to collect the block and information. If I am to complete the quilt, you would then send all the information to me, I would complete the quilt and deliver to you.
