| I developed these recipes through experimenting with a white flour recipe. Whole Wheat, Flax Pancakes ½ cup whole wheat flour ½ cup unbleached flour ½ cup flax seed meal 2 t. aluminum free baking powder 1 T. sugar or honey 1 egg beaten ¼ cup of milk or until you get the right consistency Mix dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients. Ladle on the griddle. Serve with about a teaspoon of real maple syrup. Try pancakes a little different by adding chopped apples, chopped nuts or blue berries to the batter before cooking. Or add as toppings after cooking. Whole Wheat, Flax Muffins ¾ cup unbleached flour ¾ cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup of flax seed meal 2 t aluminum free baking powder 1/4 cup honey or sugar 1 egg beaten ¾ cup milk ¼ cup olive oil ½ cup chopped nuts Mix dry ingredients except nuts, add wet ingredients. Add nuts. Bake in oven at 400 degrees. |
